The Rose of Tralee Festival 2013

The Rose of Tralee International Festival is one of Ireland's longest running festivals. It is based around the selection of the Rose of Tralee, an international event that encompasses young women of Irish descent from Ireland and around the world.
Every year over 30 International Roses come to Tralee, with friends, family and supporters. The Festival consists of the Rose Selection, family carnival, fashion show, live concerts, street theatre, music sessions and much more entertainment for all ages. During this time the town's streets are transformed into a feast of parades, music, circus, funfair, markets and live performance.
This year's festival which is bigger and better because it is the year of The Gathering is on from 14th to 20th of August.
Visitors are advised to book their accommodation for this festival early. Although Tralee has many hotels and Bed and Breakfasts, they are often booked out at this time and latecomers may find it difficult to get suitable accommodation.
If you find that all Tralee accommodation is booked out, remember that Killarney is just 20 miles away and has a good taxi, train and bus service to Tralee. Killarney has a very big range of hotels and Bed & Breakfasts.
